On August 28th,
Metal Slug 7 Original Sound Track ~iTunes Limited Edition~ was released via iTunes Japan. Sounds great, doesn't it? But here's a catch; you can only purchase it if you have a Japanese residential address. There is, however, a loophole that will allow foreigners to purchase it, by using prepaid Japanese iTunes gift certificate.
Individual tracks cost 150 Yen, (Approximately USD$1.40) while the entire album will set you back 2,000 Yen. (Approximately USD$18.40)
It should be noted that Ignition Entertainment already has the soundtracks available for download for free. But they have them for free for a reason; the ones up on Ignition's site have disgusting quality, ranging from very low bitrate (128kbps) to poorly edited tracks. The ones on iTunes, however, are quite the opposite. It's well worth the price if you care about the quality of your audio.
The soundtracks have been submitted to iTunes Japan by
TEAM Entertainment Inc. The company has put up both
promotional and
information pages regarding the soundtrack.
Anyways, those of you who do want the soundtracks but have no means of doing so or cannot be bothered with the tedious process, look no further. I have went through the trouble of obtaining the tracks from iTunes and have converted them into MP3 using LAME 3.98, (Commandline -V1 --vbr-new) because M4P sucks and DRM is for losers.
