This is not very new, but I thought I should share this piece of news with all of you. No, this is not Metal Slug: First Mission. This is a completely different game for cellphones.



And guess what, it's being distributed only in South Korea by SKT, which more or less stands for SunKyung Telecommunication, SK Telecom for short. No plans or announcements on releasing it in anywhere else. Not even the Japanese are going to get a piece of this.

Days of Memories is a dating-simulation for i-mode cellphones developed by SNK Playmore. The same goes for the Days of Memories 2.

Although this franchise doesn't have much to do with Metal Slug, take a look at below;



If you keep looking at the picture, you can notice that Fio will be in the game.

MEGA Enterprise has put up a hidden description page for their upcoming Metal Slug Online at here. Its own homepage is not up yet, however.

There are two descriptions listed here, one bing the storyline and the other being the game system. Here's the translation of the storyline;

"In 2025, the oil deposits around the world are diminishing, and violence erupts around the globe for the takeover and the control of the remaining oil reserves. In order to stop the conflicts, world peace-keeping forces are deployed and Donald Morden is appointed as the director of the armed forces. However, he is forced to retire his position after waves of criticism. Four years after his retirement, however, he leads a coup d'etat in order to conquer the world as his revenge. To stop Morden from fulfulling his ambition, the Peregrine Falcons squad, a special forces unit under the peace-keeping army, is led by Marco Rossi to an underground resistance."

And here is the description about the game's systems;

"There are more than 140 weapons, clothing/uniform, equipments, as well as a variety of armor type. Utilizing a physics engine, the players will be able to enjoy the game from its comical animations of its characters to the customization of the vehicles in the game, as well as using their weapons to hone their skills in lethality, marksmanship, range, and so on."

SNK Playmore's Game Information Site has finally opened the official homepage for the upcoming Metal Slug 6. It currently features the storyline, characters, and screenshot sections.

The story reads;

"The characters throw away their arms into the ocean after the battle against the Martians was over, expecting it to be the end of it. Morden is not confirmed to be dead or alive, and his Rebellion Army are reported to be inactive.

The peace does not last for long. Numerous intelligence data regarding Unknown Flying Objects and extraterrestrial lifeforms are gathered. Thankfully, no damage to the civilian population or military materiel has been reported.

Morden, however, has not given up, and tries to bring his ambition to reality for the third time. The biggest intelligence report comes in stating that Morden's Rebellion Army is seen to be gathering arms in a village near a mountain zone. Whether or not General Morden is still alive or why the Rebellion Army is stocking their weapons have not yet been confirmed.

Even after several complaints by Marco, Tarma, Fio, and Eri, all four of them being tired of fighting against the Rebellion, the top brass summons them to the headquarters for a briefing for a mission to investigate and destroy the Rebellion Army. Grumbling, the four of them head inside to find out that there are two new faces in the room; Ralf Jones and Clark Steel.

After the four of the Peregrine Falcons members received their new guns to replace the ones that they have thrown away to the ocean, they immediately board the plane, along with their two new teammates, in which they would parachute down into the enemy territory."

Note that Metal Slug 6 is sequel to Metal Slug 3. Metal Slug 4 and 5 comes after Metal Slug 6.

Release date remains unchanged. It will be publicly available in arcades in February.
