Almost makes me wish that SNKPUSA would have better homepage like Ignition Entertainment's, really.



Ignition Entertainment, the distributer of SNK Playmore's franchises within European Union has finally opened their homepage for Metal Slug Anthology.



They also have a trailer up for it, too. It can be downloaded from the Metal Slug Anthology homepage, or by click on the image above or from our trailers section.

On the sidenote, there has been a hint that people affiliated with SNK Playmore might be lurking around this site. What does this mean? It means that they will probably listen to your opinion about Metal Slug games if you kick and scream hard enough.

The Japanese section of the Metal Slug 10th-year anniversary site has been updated with several new images in both of its series gallery--featuring artworks from Metal Slug 2nd Mission--and illustrations gallery in its gallery section.

On the other hand, the English section of the site has been updated with the characters section--which, by the way, does not contain anything new despite the SNKP's announcement--series section with history of Metal Slug 5 and, finally, gallery section with Metal Slug 5 promotional artwork. (I don't think this section was updated at all, either)

1UP reported today that SNK Playmore is planning to release the Metal Slug 1 for Xbox 360's Live Arcade.

According to a pamphlet being handed out at the Tokyo Game Show by SNK Playmore, a version of Metal Slug is being brought to Xbox Live Arcade. From the look of the art at SNK's booth this may be Metal Slug 1 coming to XBLA. The text on the pamphlet translates to "the original."
SNK Playmore does not list a release date in the pamphlet for the Metal Slug title. Given the sketchy history Microsoft's had with Xbox Live Arcade titles of late (hello, Lumines) -- we're betting Metal Slug will appear on Xbox Live Arcade in 2007.

Secondly, SNK Playmore USA made a press release today revealing that Metal Slug 6 will be included in both the PSP and Wii version of Metal Slug Anthology

WALL, NJ. - September 22, 2006 - SNK PLAYMORE USA CORPORATION, the US publishing arm of the SNK PLAYMORE CORPORATION, announced today that they will add the latest game in the series, METAL SLUG 6, to METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY for the Nintendo Wii™ and the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system.

METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY will now feature seven great METAL SLUG titles. Included in the collection will be METAL SLUG, METAL SLUG 2, METAL SLUG X, METAL SLUG 3, METAL SLUG 4, METAL SLUG 5, and METAL SLUG 6.

METAL SLUG 6 was released in the arcades earlier this year and expands the cast of playable characters by two. In addition to the METAL SLUG regulars - Marco Rossi, Tarma Roving, Eri Kasamoto, and Fio Germi, METAL SLUG 6 includes Ralf Jones and Clark Steel of IKARI WARRIORS .The METAL SLUG 6 storyline returns to the Rebel-Martian alliance featured in Metal Slugs 2, X, and 3, but now players have to team up with the Rebels and Martians to defeat an even greater threat.

METAL SLUG ANTHOLOGY will ship in November 2006.

Secondly, the English portion of the site has been updated with the Metal Slug 4 background in its series section, plus new Metal Slug 4 artworks in the gallery section and profiles of Trevor and Nadia in the characters section.
