Old news
Metal Slug Zero website renovated

After what it appeared to be an utter lack of update for months after announcement, the official Metal Slug Zero website has been renovated, using much darker tones than the previous layout.

Now, before we get into further details about the new website, let's talk about the old websites. Yes, "websites". That's a plural. If you have been following the news closely, there were two Metal Slug Zero websites before, one built for Korean market (www.metalslug.co.kr) and the other for international. (www.metalslugzero.com) It is the former that was renovated. The latter, however, does not appear to be functioning anymore, and displays a 403 Forbidden error page when accessed. The renovated site, however, has all three languages (Korean, English and Chinese) that the international site offered. The old version of www.metalslug.co.kr has been saved to MSDB's archives, and can be viewed from here.

The site is not fully updated yet, with several sections missing contents. The most intriguing addition is the episode section which provides some insights, as well as concept artworks, to the stages that the players will be encountering in the game.

After obtaining intelligence on activity of Morden's army in Southeast Asia, the heroes (Marco, Eri, Tarma, Fio) headed for Indonesia to get clear picture on what they are up to.
But it was a vicious and dirty trap of Morden's army to capture the heroes who always got in their way.
Just as usual, Marco managed to escape their trap successfully, and headed for the Regular Army's air-force base at Kuala Lumpur to request immediate extraction plan of other heroes.

After arriving at Indonesia base, Marco got a intelligence from informer and headed for the coast to look for an airport.
While Morden's Army was tracing Marco's where about, they were able to obtain the information which tells that Marco is heading for the Regular Army's airport. As soon as they get the intelligence, Morden's Army deployed their troops to capture Marco.

By the time Marco found the airport, it was too late. Morden's army was already surrounded the area, and their presence made almost impossible for Marco to steal 'Slug Flyer' for extraction.
Even if it was almost impossible to penetrate the barricade, Marco stuck to his plan of stealing 'Slug Flyer' because it was an only way.
Finally, Marco was able to get his hands on 'Slug Flyer', and is on his way to escape the island. But Morden's Army has no plan for him to get off that easily. Will Marco be able to escape the island as he planned?

A new non-playable character is also introduced, although not much details about his in-game role is given.

Other new additions include brief descriptions of characters of both Regular Army and Rebellion, as well as the respective equipment used by the both sides. (A lot, if not all, of them have been copied and pasted directly from this MSDB. I'm not joking. Check them out for yourself.)

It will be interesting to see what else comes up.

Metal Slug and Comiket 75

Listen up; the Comic Market 75 Winter has already started, and I will be pointing out a few Metal Slug-related doujin works that might be featured one way or another.

They are mostly adult-oriented, so I suggest that children shouldn't even bother to click the links. If you do, don't bother whining about how you got into trouble with your parents, because I could not possibly care any less.

First off, Delta3. 12/28 7.

Visit website here.

Secondly, Genesys. 12/29 28.

Visit website here.

And, the final one I could find on CM75 catalogue, HD. 12/30 I39.

The blog hasn't been updated for a year, but you can still visit it here.

Metal Slug Mobile 4 -- Metal Slug: Survivors for the West

Remember Metal Slug: Survivors, the game made for mobile phones that was released around Japan in 2006 and slowly trickled out to other countries? I-Play has, finally, begun distributing the game under the title of Metal Slug Mobile 4, following Metal Slug Mobile 3. (Also known as Allen's Battle Chronicles.)
