SNK Playmore has released Metal Slug M2, sequel to the mobile game Metal Slug M1 that it released back in July of last year.


Fio is still the main playable character, fighting Morden's minions as usual. The game also has a new feature, called "ranking system", which allows players to upload their high scores to compete against other people.

After about a year of delay, WBA Interactive has announced that it will be releasing Metal Slug Collection for PC by the end of this month.


It will contain Metal Slug 1, 2, X, 3, 4, 5 and 6 on a single disc.

The company has mentioned the fact that two players can play co-operatively, and also touted that players will be able to save their progress at any point in the game as they desire.

Ah, well. That was a dead-giveaway. It looks like this is going to be another half-assed port discreetly packaged with emulators and ROMs.

None other than Atlus USA. I guess Ignition Entertainment doesn't feel confident at all considering how Metal Slug 7 didn't really sell very well.

Atlus USA has made an announcement that the game will be released for PSP on February 23rd for $19.99. Not a terrible deal at all.

Also, there are people who have been hacking the game using cheat tools to unlock Leona in the game. Playstation Blog has uncovered that now you can unlock her in a legit way, by paying 99 cents for a DLC via Playstation Store which will allow you to use her in the game.

Following the release of Metal Slug XX, SNK Playmore has updated its website with several Metal Slug XX wallpapers.


The fourth and final image is rather bothersome, but at least whoever worked on the wallpaper design was thoughtful enough to put a giant logo over where the bulge should be.

Also available are several New Year greeting cards, one of them which happens to have Metal Slug XX theme.


You know, the more I look at the new style, the more I wonder about what happened to Tonko. Working on another project, perhaps?
